Mike Lamb there is definitely a learning curve. Cheap crashes today will save you from expensive dead gear in the future. That said, the more advanced drones do have collision avoidance mechanisms.

We actually reviewed the Autel Evo Nano here. Love it! https://www.diyphotography.net/autel-evo-nano-drone-is-it-really-a-dji-mini-2-killer/

Sorry for my late reply.
First of all, SENSOR. If you’re using the Nano in low light situation (after dawn or similar) you will notice huge differences. It’s a fact, easily replicable by all.
Customer sercive was really bad at the time of the Evo 2 pro V1 (that i owned), but actually a very good CS is up here (Europe).
Another things is the capability of using the drone everywhere (according to local’s laws) without pre-restriction made by dji (i know that you can flash the firmware of dji in order to flight everywhere but this operation drop down the warranty).
I trust dji too but i’m not blind and i’m not an ambassador of it, i use the best things the market offers without being a fanboy. People that “defend” a single brand are not smart.

Oof based on many very poor reviews of Autel Evo Nano, including bad Customer Service, I went and pre-ordered the mini 3 pro. I heard that they’re on par with each other when they work. What’s the Autel Evo Nano have that the Mini 3 pro doesn’t? I’d be willing to give them a go when it’s time to upgrade.

That being said, I recently had to send my drone in for servicing after it crashed. I shipped it Monday and they had it back by the Friday. They decided they wanted to keep it for evaluation and sent me a brand new one. And it didn’t count towards my care refresh or cost me any extra. So I trust DJI and have had a great experience so far 🤷‍♂️.

I decided I needed a drone in my camera arsenal and smartly started with some ‘toy drones’ — sub $100 with rather crappy cameras. Glad that I did! I’m on my 3rd drone since Christmas. lol. Lots of crashing. Lots of getting it unstuck from Trees and off roofs. Yes, the DJIs have helpful tools for easier flying, but like my cameras, if I can’t run it in manual mode, can I even say I am a photographer??? 🙂 Happy Droning!

These reviews help a lot making the right decision, thanks!

Btw, there is a drone that it’s at least 10 stairs up this mini 3 pro: Autel Evo Nano. This drone is the best <250g if you're looking into videos and photos.
I'm not a fanboy of Autel or Hater of Dji but i'm a photographer and videographer for ages.
