Ian McLeod, a devoted father, poured his love for his son Cory into an everyday timelapse he published back in 2012. He recorded the first 21 years of his son’s life and turned them into a six-minute video. When Cory grew up, he joined his dad’s effort. He added nine more years to Ian’s timelapse, taking it all the way up to his 30th birthday.

Using over 11,000 photos, Ian created a beautiful tribute to his son. It starts with Cory’s sonogram, goes through many of his important milestones throughout his childhood, teenage years, and early adulthood, and ends with his 21st birthday.
Taking a photo every day for over two decades is a tedious task, and of course, there were a few days when Ian couldn’t do it. But he drew sketches of his son and added them to the timelapse, showing just how dedicated he was to this project.
Ian’s timelapse is impressive on its own, but Cory built upon it and made the project even better. Every day, from his 21st birthday until his 30th in 2021, he took a photo of himself. Nine years later, he ended up with a timelapse 30 Years of Cory Every Day, putting 30 years of his life in just under nine minutes.
I’m generally impressed by “a photo a day” timelapse videos because they took an incredible amount of devotion and effort. But this one is probably my favorite so far, as it’s a joint effort of a father and his son. How do you like it?
