When animals photobomb my shots, it’s the cutest thing. I don’t know about you, but I just can’t get mad at them. But when they photobomb a live camera during a broadcast and startle a meteorologist, you get a darn hilarious moment live on TV. This recently happened to an NBC6 South Florida weather presenter, and it was as charming as it was funny.
2022 Audubon Photography Awards Winners show us birds as we rarely see them
The National Audubon Society announced today the winners of the 2022 Audubon Photography Awards. Like every year, the goal of the contest is to showcase captivating behaviors and stunning looks of the birds around us. And also like every year – the selected photos show us the birds as we rarely see them.
These are the best photos that flew to 2022 Bird Photographer of the Year so far
There are few things I like more in the morning other than the sound of the birds out my window (and coffee, but that’s a different topic). Of course, not all birds sing nicely (I’m looking at you, magpies), but I think they’re all cool in their own way.
Bird Photographer of the Year contest shares my opinion, so they threw a contest for choosing the best bird photo every year. The results won’t arrive until fall, but the finalists are now out and all I can say is – the jury will have a difficult task choosing the best. So, if you like birds or at least bird photography, let’s take a look at these beautiful photos together.
Hidden camera captures heart-melting footage of a rescued owl adopting two orphaned chicks
Owls are among the most widespread bird species in the world, and among the most popular ones too. The popularity is partially thanks to Hedwig from Harry Potter, and partially, I believe, is because they’re so beautifully weird!
Wildlife artist Robert E Fuller is a major owl enthusiast. He doesn’t only find inspiration in these beautiful creatures, he also does his best to save them. His rescue owl Luna’s eggs recently failed to hatch, and he had her adopt two orphaned chicks. They captured the encounter with a hidden camera and it’s the most heartwarming thing you’ll see today.
Nightmare material: Flock of birds smashing into the ground caught on camera in Mexico
A security camera recently captured an utterly bizarre wildlife incident in Mexico. A flock of birds suddenly smashed into the ground, and it looks like a scene from your worst nightmares.
Does This Budget Friendly Telephoto Lens Deliver Quality Results?
Since late November, I’ve been shooting with a new Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD lens. I bought this lens to replace my Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens (the old version with the push-pull zoom) I’ve been using for wildlife photography since 2012.
I’ve loved my Canon ever since the day I unboxed it. This lens has everything I wanted, long reach, fast autofocus, reasonably lightweight, and since I bought it after the Mark II version came out the price was much more affordable. I’ve taken thousands of images with this lens and it served me well over the years. Any images shot with this lens I wasn’t happy with certainly were not the fault of the lens. I planned to keep using this lens for as long as possible as I was completely satisfied with my investment.
Seagulls hilariously photobomb this couple’s romantic video
Have you ever tried to take a photo or video only to have someone photobomb you and ruin the moment? This happened to a couple in Australia, but rather than having their annoying friends ruin the shot, it was two seagulls. And instead of ruining it, they actually made it a lot better and completely hilarious.

A roadrunner stopped by USA-Mexico border wall wins 2021 Bird Photographer of the Year
After sharing with us this year’s finalists back in April, Bird Photographer of the Year has selected the winners of the 2021 contest. This year, the overall award has gone into hands of Alejandro Prieto for his image of a roadrunner stopped in its track by the USA-Mexico border wall. But as always, there are plenty more stunning photos in the selection, and we bring you some of them below.
Roadrunner bathed in sunlight and dust wins 2021 Audubon Photography Awards
The National Audubon Society has announced the winning photos and videos of its 2021 Audubon Photography Awards. The entrants from all across the USA and Canada submitted their photos, and for the first time, the best bird videos were awarded as well. The grand prize went to Carolina Fraser and her photo of a sunbathed, dusty roadrunner. But there are plenty more amazing photos in this year’s selection, so let’s check them out.
