We’ve seen some pretty cool camera-inspired watches so far. But Horage’s Lensman 2 Exposure wasn’t just inspired by photography and made for photographers. It features a rotating bezel that lets you calculate exposure and choose proper camera settings, which is especially useful if you shoot film. It’s your little cheat sheet that can always be with you and tell you both time and camera settings. Pretty cool, huh?
“For new enthusiasts and photographic veterans alike, understanding the settings required to arrive at a well-exposed image is paramount,” Horage writes. It’s quite easy on our modern digital cameras, but if you enjoy playing with older and simpler film models, you may find a settings cheat sheet handy. This is where Lensman 2 Exposure steps in.
The Lensman 2 Exposure has a bidirectional rotating bezel that works as an exposure calculator. It ranges from ISO 25 to 12,800 and aperture (f-stop) of f/1.4 to F/22. There are also the lighting conditions icons and shutter speed engraved on an inner dial ring. “The optimal shutter speeds and f-stops are revealed when the ISO markings of the bezel are rotated to align with your current lighting conditions, thus helping you to calculate the optimal shutter speed and aperture for your camera’s exposure,” Lensman explains.
Other than being functional as a photography cheat sheet, the Lensman 2 Exposure is fantastic as, well – a watch. It’s durable, features a beautiful old-school design, and comes in several different versions. The Standard Edition is available in two dial colors: yellow or black. The micro-rotor is rhodium-plated tungsten and the case back has the quote, “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” You can also get the special Brian Griffin limited edition, limited to only 100 pieces. It’s adorned with a silver dial and PT950 platinum micro-rotor. “Believe in your light. – Brian Griffin” is engraved on the watch’s case back.
The price tag on the Lensman 2 Exposure is pretty high, ranging from $5,500 to nearly $8,000.But hey, just remember that Leica makes $14,000 watches, this is cheap in comparison. And it has a cool little exposure cheat sheet, too. But if you want something more affordable, but still inspired by cameras and lenses, perhaps you can look into TACS’ models.
