Woodstock, Ill. — Auxiliary equipment maker Mac Automation Concepts introduced a new line of gaylord covers with an adjustable design to fit most standard-size containers.
The Woodstock-based manufacturer of parts handling equipment and systems came up with a design that uses two telescoping rods, mounted across the width of the cover, to adjust the size, while an elastic band with a belt and buckle allows for easy tightening. The snug fit prevents sagging and contains resin material, preventing it from falling on the floor.
The covers also feature a breathable filter panel, access ports for vacuum wands with elastic zippers and see-through vinyl windows for quick visual level checks.
The new covers will be featured at Mac's booth at the Injection Molding and Design Expo set for May 25-26 at Detroit's Huntington Place. The event is put on by Crain's Plastics News and Applied Market Information Ltd.'s Injection World magazines.
Founded in 1980, Mac also makes conveyors, fill systems, inspection equipment and other products for the plastics industry, in addition to gaylord covers, which essentially improve the quality of molded parts by preventing contamination of in-process material.
"We have introduced the patented covers to the plastics industry and are happy to introduce an even better, improved design," Joe Gracia, national sales manager at Mac Automation Concepts, said in a news release. "These new covers offer great flexibility and can be easily installed by one person."
The covers also are customizable with different logos and colors to easily identify specific materials in the plant, for example, blue covers for virgin resin and red covers for recycled resin.
The covers are available in five sizes and are in stock for fast shipping. Or, the covers can be designed for customer-specific applications.
